What's Happening?!

Thanks to those who attended the International Motorcycle Show with me on Saturday, the 18th. While it was lacking in some manufacturer participation I was really excited to get to see the new Triumph Explorer 1200. Triumph has sat out the last few shows so it was an encouraging sign that they were there with new models. As ever, it was great to just go and hang out with like minded enthusiasts and run into old friends while walking around.

Which segues nicely into our next outing....

I have attended the Vancouver Motorcycle Show thrice in the last four years and it's always had something different than what the Seattle Show offers. It's in no way connected to the US Shows and Canada has several interesting models that aren't available here in the States. So, we are going to make a day of this on Saturday, January 21st, 2012. Abbottsford, BC is only a couple of hours north of Seattle and, if the weather cooperates, we could ride up and plan on skipping I-5 on the return trip. I've ridden up in freezing rain and brilliant sunshine but, if it's as nasty a winter as they are forecasting, I am more than happy to carpool up for the day. There is an excellent Cafe in Chilliwack, BC if we decide to have a bite before returning in the afternoon.

We had a small group go up last year and everybody enjoyed themselves. The more the merrier!

The Progressive International Motorcycle Show is changing venues this year. It will be held at the Washington State Convention Center on the weekend of December 16th thru 18th. Click the image above for more info. As in the past, we will be putting together a group outing for anybody who is interested in attending. Watch this spot for more info as it becomes available.

There's a new ride report posted in the Travel Log Section with one or two more on the way.

A lot has happened since the last update here and we apologize for being so late in bringing everything up to speed. We had our annual Spring Tech Day and Swap N Shop at Uncle Everett's Garage on April 30th. Hydraulic fluid flush and fills seemed to be all the rage. We changed brake and clutch fluid in 3 different bikes and installed some accessories on another.

We had a nice, if short, group ride on May 22nd to Wally's Drive-In in Buckley. There were 8 or 9 bikes with passengers on a few and we rode on out to the Carbon River Ranger Station, past Carbonado, after lunch.

The bi-annual Iron Butt Rally starts on Monday, June 20th. This epic motorcycle scavenger hunt takes participants to all corners of the continent over 11 days. The start/finish locations are different each time and this year it starts right here in Seattle. If you have some time to spend, like to look at motorcycles and meet friendly people, stop by the Airport Marriott on Saturday, the 18th or Sunday, the 19th and check out the parking lot.
